i just signed up for the beta, and amt rying it out. i have pidgin with AIM / MSN.. oddly enough it logs all of the messages i receive but none of hte messages i send

    any idea why this is?

also is there a wiki or some sort of bug tracker we could get to or shoudl be looking at?

  2. Andrew Masyk Says:

That’s really odd… can you tell us the version of Pidgin? (look for version number somewhere at help or about)

We will setup a wiki shortly.

  3. nate Says:

2.3.1 . it does the samet hing on my desktop and my laptop.

i think i had the proxy server info wrong, i had it set to my username/password for simkl not the custom one given… i changed it but dont see any update yet. maybe there is some sort of delay

  4. nate Says:

hmm still having hte same problem even with the correct proxy info

as for things that might be an issue?

    - using wireless at school, secure network requiring a login
    - using hamachi?
    - windows xp with updates
    - windows xp firewall enabled

if anyone has more advice or wants further information they can just email me

fyi my account name is hypn0toad

  5. Andrew Masyk Says:

Thanks Nate, we’ll get right on with this issue.

  6. Andrew Masyk Says:

Well, problem was found and fixed. Full conversation should be visible now in those messages.

Hi! I just signed in for the beta and I got it working except for one problem…. I use Trillian 3.0 and after changing the proxy setting, trillian keeps signing me off and back on every few minutes.

Like the concept of history.im !

  8. Andrew Masyk Says:

Hi Aravind, what type of IM account do you use, AOL or MSN? Is the internet connection good to your computer?

  9. nate Says:

andrew- thanks everything works great for me now!

  10. Aravind Says:

I use Trillian for Yahoo. I have a 256kbps connection, but it keeps fluctuating between 128 and 256.

  11. Andrew Masyk Says:

Aravind, Trillian 3.0 does not have any proxy configurations in settings. you should update to version 3.1, it specifically resolves some problems with yahoo and also it supports Proxy settings (in Trillian Preferences -> Advanced Preferences -> Proxy Server)

  12. Aravind Says:

oops! am sorry…i meant to say 3.1… couldnt remember and i thought it wudn’t matter… apparantly it does…

  13. Andrew Masyk Says:

Aravind, I have found that people have the same trouble with trillian without our proxy. I’m not sure why exactly right now, not enough info yet.

  14. Aravind Says:

I knew that Yahoo had this sort of problem, which is why I switched to Trillian and never noticed a disconnection. Trillian lets me chat for hours without losing the connection. As said in the link youp rovided, trillian might be getting disconnected but am yet to notice it. But after turning on the proxy, the connection keeps getting cut at an average of 3-4 minutes. I just found out that I also have the same problem as Nate about not being able to send messages, but being able to receive them. But after getting reconnected, I am able to do do both. Maybe I should try Pidgin.

  15. olubi ezra Says:

i use trillian. i send messages and they get saved. but the recipient doesnt get them. account name is xolubi (yahoo). when the remote party sends me a message, it doesnt get delivered/stored.

  16. nate Says:

    maybe a bug for me?

when i click show all contacts, all contacts are shown, but there is no way to go back]

button remains labeled show all contacts and does nothing.

i want to swithc back to the view of just the people who i have a history saved with…

  17. Andrew Masyk Says:

Just click on “Name” or “ID” and you’ll see only your contacts with history. We’ll add more functionality to that soon.

  18. Aravind Says:

Andrew, just letting you know that simkl works fine after I switched to pidgin….thnx for the service!
