Trillian lets me chat for hours without losing the connection. As said in the link youp rovided, trillian might be getting disconnected but am yet to notice it. But after turning on the proxy, the connection keeps getting cut at an average of 3-4 minutes. I just found out that I also have the same problem as Nate about not being able to send messages, but being able to receive them. But after getting reconnected, I am able to do do both.
